A 19-year-old janitor allegedly committed suicide inside the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) compound in Intramuros, Manila, Wednesday morning.
Police identified the victim as Jonard Peranca, a resident of Baseco Compound Port Area, Manila.
Initial investigation showed that the victim’s body was discovered by his own father, who also works as a janitor, inside the CBCP complex stock room located on General Luna Street in Intramuros, Manila, at 6 a.m. Wednesday. He saw the victim lying atop a wooden table with a nylon cord looped around his neck.
During cursory examination, the victim bore ligature marks on the neck.
He was last seen alive at about 7 p.m. on Nov. 20 when he entered the room occupied by his brother and younger brother, police claimed.
The body was brought to Archangel Funeral Homes for autopsy and examination.
