CEBU CITY – An 18-year-old woman and her 28-year-old live-in partner were arrested last Tuesday after they were caught engaging in online sexual exploitation of children (OSEC) in Naval, Biliran.
Operatives of the Women and Children Protection Center-Visayas Field Unit (WCPC-VFU) and the Biliran Provincial Police Office (BPPO) caught the couple red-handed inside a hotel room where they supposedly offered two 14-year-old boys to an online sex predator in exchange for cash.
Aside from three boys, a 15-year-old girl and the couple’s two young children who were in the hotel room were also rescued by the police.
The 15-year-old girl and the couple’s children – a two-month-old girl and a one-year-old boy – will undergo assessment to determine if they too were victimized.
Three 17-year-old boys and a 20-year-old woman suspected to have been victimized by the suspects were also rescued in separate locations in the province.
The victims have been turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for after-care services.
The couple is facing charges for violating the Anti- Trafficking in Persons Act or Republic Act (RA) 9208 as amended by RA 10364. (Calvin Cordova)
