The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has disallowed the entry of 242 foreign nationals expected to work illegally in the country at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said the exclusion followed after the relief of all NAIA immigration officers from their posts due to the alleged “pastillas” scam.
The travelers came from travellers came from China, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
The BI chief said they arrived separately at the three terminals of the premier port from Feb. 21 to 28.
According to BI intelligence chief Fortunato Manahan, Jr., they are in close coordination with their foreign counterparts to thwart the entry of these illegal foreign workers. (Jun Ramirez)
