Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 2 and the Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested a teacher and a contractual worker of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in separate drug bust operations in Cagayan.
One of the suspects, Roderick Paraiso, 40, a teacher, was nabbed at 11 a.m. on Saturday during an entrapment launched by members of PDEA Batanes Provincial Office, Gattaran Police Station, Naval Intelligence and Security Group II, and Gonzaga Police Station in Aguiguican Gattaran, Cagayan, according to police report.
Paraiso was allegedly caught in the act of selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P500.
Meanwhile, in Centro Southwest, Solana, Cagayan, one Bendict Carag, 34, a contractual employee of DPWH, was nabbed by joint elements of PDEA Cagayan Provincial Office and Solana Police Station during a buy-bust operation.
The agents confiscated from him a P1,000 bill, boodle money, three sachets of shabu, a sachet of dried marijuana leaves, a motorcycle, and a cellular phone.
The two suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165, police said. (Liezle Basa Inigo)
