Actress Ruffa Guttierez’s lawyers have issued a seeming warning to those supposedly peddling fake news relating their client.
It came via a statement that also clarified the viral issue about Gutierrez supposedly firing several employees without pay, which was made public following Rep. Rowena Guanzon’s controversial tweet asking the former about it.
Said Gutierrez’s lawyers:
“Contrary to fake news peddled on social media, our Client NEITHER FIRED the Helpers NOR REFUSED TO PAY their remaining pay for six days. In fact, it was the Helpers who quit and insisted that they leave the house immediately without complying with clearance requirements of the village association.”
They went on to label the issue as “black propaganda / smear campaign” against Gutierrez relating to her portraying former First Lady Imelda Marcos in the upcoming Viva movie “Maid In Malacañang.”
It added that despite the helpers being “unruly,” even “violating the confidentiality, non-disclosure and working agreement that they signed,” Gutierrez could only “wish them well.”
Meanwhile, they made clear:
“Our Client will explore all legal actions and remedies available, especially against those spreading unverified information / fake news.”
