PINOY ‘HOTTIES’ – Beauty kings, or “hotties” as they are now more popularly billed, take center stage in the report by Jay P. Delgado.

TWO national male pageants have just selected their winners who will represent the Philippines in international pageants and another one launched its search this year with a summer kick-off party and newly registered name to boot.

The Mister Philippines, Inc., headed by Dr. Joseph Pallera, has selected its winners for its international franchises this year (last April 14 at Tanghalang Pasigueño) with Mark Louie G. Bornilla of Plaridel, Bulacan as the first to compete abroad.

Bornilla, who is also the reigning Ginoong Republica Filipinas, is now in Chiang Mai, Thailand alongside 30 other delegates worldwide for the 3rd Mister Global Pageant to be held on May 6 in the northern Thai resort city.

Another winner, 30-year old Hermes Eugene David Bautista, who was a Star Magic talent from 2010 to 2012, will vie for Mister Universe in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic later this year.

Hermes, who was born in San Diego, California, was a housemate in “Pinoy Big Brother Double Up” from 2009 to 2010 and has appeared in several movies and TV shows before he returned to the US to work as a practical nurse (he is a Nursing graduate of Far Eastern University).

BEST IN – Meanwhile, the Mister United Continents Philippines Pageant has also chosen its winners (also at Tanghalan ng Pasigueño last April 24) led by Issa Arciga Janda, a 20-year old Criminology student from Polangui, Albay.

Janda, who stands an imposing 6’2”, also won the Best in Physique and Best Kasuotang Pinoy awards en route to earning the right to represent the Philippines at the Mister United Continents international finals to be held in the Philippines this coming July.

Finally, Prime Events Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS Foundation) launched the newly-registered name of its 5-year old pageant Misters of Filipinas 2016 with a summer kick-off party at House Manila in Remington Hotel last April 22.

Headed by Carlos Morris Galang, PEPPS thanked partners, sponsors and their winners who have stuck as one team especially in the times they were facing certain issues with a rival organization. Mister International 2014 Neil Perez and the reigning titleholders Don MacGyver Cochino, AR dela Serna, and former winners were also present at the affair.
