Manila, Philippines – Ambassador Laura Q. del Rosario is the new Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for International Economic Relations, replacing Ambassador Antonio V. Rodriguez, who retired from the foreign service last month.
According to the DFA, Del Rosario, who is also serving as Foreign Service Institute Director in a concurrent capacity, recently took her oath of office before President Benigno S. Aquino III in Malacanang.
Del Rosario, who has Master’s degrees in Literature Studies (Benemeritus) from the University of Santo Tomas and in Educational Administration from the University of the Philippines, rose from the ranks, after passing the Foreign Service Officers examination in 1979. (Roy C. Mabasa)
