When the going gets tough, Myla Pablo gets going.
With Pocari Sweat facing elimination, the former National U star came through with 20 attack points and two blocks while producing 12 digs to power the Lady Warriors to a tough 25-22, 16-25, 23-25, 25-21, 15-12 victory over the Hair Fairy Air Force Lady Jet Spikers last Sunday.
The win did not only force a do-or-die for the other finals berth but also keep the team’s hopes for a fourth straight championship in the Premier Volleyball League.
“We just kept the faith and showed teamwork,” said Pablo, whose effort also earned her Philips Gold-PVL Press Corps Player of the Week honors.
It was a huge bounce back win for Pocari after dropping a disappointing 20-25, 19-25, 20-25 setback in the opener of their best-of-three series late Saturday.
Pablo also led the Lady Warriors with 13 points and seven digs in Game One.
One of the leading contenders for the conference MVP honors, Pablo set the scoring pace in the elimination round with 143 points on 128 spikes, 11 blocks and four service aces.
She also wound up second in spiking department with 39.75 percent success rating and No. 9 in blocking with 0.42 average per set.
