San Juan Coliseum, in cooperation with Lakpue Drug Inc. (LDI) stages a ‘Big Event’ cockfest – the Pearl Cup 4-Cock Derby – on Dec. 27.
“It is the ‘Big Event’ derby for medium-scale cockers, since our entry fee is only P11,000,” said co-organizer William Go, a two-time world champion.
The distribution of P1 million guaranteed prize are as follow: P700,000 plus a Castrillo trophy for the champion, P200,000 for those with three points, P90,000 for the handler and P10,000 for the winning gaffer.
LDI boss Ricky Castillo said they increased the prize money due to its successful staging last year – 174 fights for 87 entries – with Sonny Panaligan (Kuckoo Farms) emerging as champion.
