College of St. Benilde breathed life to its flickering title bid Monday night by beating Arellano, 4-3, on penalties in Game 2 to force a sudden death in their NCAA men’s football title showdown at the Rizal Memorial Football Field.
Moiselle Alforque produced the winning goal for the Blazers in a game filled with color to the delight of highly-appreciative crowd.
Benilde can regain the title it last hoisted in 2009 with another win tonight at 6 p.m.
The Chiefs took the opener, 3-2, last Friday.
In juniors action, San Beda retained its crown after downing La Salle Greenhills, 3-1, also on penalties.
Roejen Sermese, Nicolai Abalos and Jessie Reil Semblante scored the last three penalties for San Beda with Semblante also stepping up at the goalpost and denying the last three attempts of St. Benilde.
