SLEEP plays a major factor in determining if one has depression.
Insomnia is a common experience among the depressed. However, there are also cases wherein people report habits of oversleeping.
Depression is closely intertwined with suicide. In fact, having suicidal thoughts is one of depression’s greatest warning signs. If you have thought of harming yourself or attempted taking your own life, you could very well be depressed.
Although there has yet to be an exact cure for it, depression is treatable and preventable. Some people opt to seek professional help.
There are hotlines such as the hope hotline (02) 804-HOPE (4673) that one can call.
If you are afraid to seek professional help for personal reasons, there are still ways for you to help yourself. One of the best ways is to stay connected to those around you. Keeping yourself isolated from the world only makes the battle much more difficult.
Reach out to your family or your friends. Find solace through their company.
Keep yourself busy. Try and create a routine which will make you get up in the morning. Let yourself feel the sadness from time to time, but never let it consume you. Find a new hobby, or maybe even reconnect with the old one you had lost.

TRIVIA PA MORE (Various Sources):
The St. Bernard is one of the most popular dogs in search and rescue operations, especially in cold areas.
St. Bernard dogs are sensitive and are able to sense avalanches. They also have a sharp sense of smell that can reach 6 meters or 20 feet underneath snow.
Since they have warm and large bodies, they lie on top of people that they rescue to warm the survivor.
