Virac, Catanduanes – The dead body of a baby girl was found by a utility worker in a trashcan inside the female restroom of the Catanduanes State University Administration Building yesterday morning.
Investigators said the cadaver was discovered at around 7 a.m. by utility worker Evelyn Tabinas who supposedly traced it due to its foul odor.
The infant was said to have been found wrapped in a blue jacket.
Post mortem examination conducted by the Rural Health Unit of Virac, Catanduanes revealed the dead infant weighed 3.5 kilograms and is already at the early stage of decomposition.
The cadaver has since been buried at the Virac Public Cemetery.
Virac police has requested for a copy of CCTV footage in and around the university to identify those responsible for the dumping of the body.
