DOST-SEI invites science, math teachers to join InnoBox contest.
The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education InĀstitute is calling on the countryās public and private elementary and secondary school educators who are currently teaching sciĀence and/or mathematics to subĀmit proposals for the āInnoBoxā or Innovation in a Box competiĀtion.
āInnoBoxā is a nationwide search for the most innovative teaching and learning resources which can be used in teaching both science and mathematics.
The idea behind āInnoBoxā is for educators to come up with ideas for a more engaging learnĀing experience in the classroom, as they embrace new roles as inĀnovators and designers of learnĀing environment.
āWeāre always on the lookout for teachers who are keen on improvĀing science and math education in the country,ā DOST-SEI Director Dr. Josette Biyo said.
DOST-SEI, best known for imĀplementing various science scholĀarship programs, recognizes the crucial role of teachers in strengthĀening science and technolĀogy in the country.
Now on its second run, the project aims to encourage educaĀtors to be innovative, creative, and practiĀcal in teaching science and math concepts to improve studentsā perforĀmance in these subĀjects.
Nine teachers/group of teachers (three per category) will be given P50,000 each to develop their project prototype. The top three winners (one per category) will reĀceive a plaque of recognition and P100,000 each.
DOST-SEI invites all qualified teachers to submit proposals in any of the following search catĀegories: Grades 3-6, Grades 7-10 and Grades 11-12. The proposed learning resources must not have been awardĀed or given any kind of speĀcial recognition in previous competitions. Deadline for submission is on July 12.
