Police arrested two men who allegedly drugged and raped a 17-year-old special education (SPED) student in Tondo, Manila, last Saturday.
Manila Police District (MPD)-Raxabago Police Station chief Police Lieutenant Col. Reynaldo Magdaluyo identified the suspects as Manuel Saylo, 19; and Cesar Gabino, 30, both residents of Tondo.
However, the third suspect, Danny Pelayo, 25, managed to escape, Magdaluyo said.
Investigation showed that on Saturday, the victim was at a convenience store with her cousin when Saylo approached and told her to come back sometime. The victim ignored him and went home. However, Saylo followed them and lured them to go with him.
Police said the next day, the victim’s mother said that her daughter went missing. She sought the help of the barangay and found her daughter tired and shocked.
The student confessed that the suspects allegedly forced her to use shabu before molesting her at Pelayo’s house. The suspects also threatened to kill her if she did not give in to their demands, she said.
The victim’s family reported the incident to the police which led to the arrest of Saylo and Gabino on Balimbing Street in Barangay 123, Zone 9. The duo claimed that only Pelayo raped the student and inserted a catsup bottle into her private part.
Magdaluyo said that based on the medical examination, the girl was sexually abused.
The two suspects will be charged with violation of the Anti-Rape Law of 1997.
