Former actress Deborah Sun, her daughter and their two cohorts were arrested by police in a drug bust in Quezon City early Sunday morning
Police identified the suspects as Jean Louise Salvador, also known as Deborah Sun, 60; her daughter Angela Salvador, 45; Gerald de Guzman, 53, a Grab driver; and Gonzalo Gonzales, 49.
Lt. Col. Jeffrey Bilaro, Quezon City Police Station 8 chief, said the arrest of the group stemmed from a drug sting launched against De Guzman after receiving reports of his illegal drug activity in his condominium unit.
After verifying, an undercover police officer transacted with De Guzman inside his room in Barangay E. Rodriguez around 1:30 a.m., resulting in his arrest.
Arrested with De Guzman were Deborah and her daughter who were caught in a shabu-sniffing session, and Gonzales who was also involved in illegal drug peddling.
Police recovered from the group seven sachets of shabu with an estimated street value of P6,800, some drug paraphernalia and the buy-bust money.
The suspects are now under police custody and will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Alexandria San Juan)
