A couple and their two-year-old son died in a fire that razed a residential area in Barangay Pasong Putik, Quezon City, early Monday.
Bureau of Fire Protection-Quezon City (BFP-QC) officers identified the fatalities as Arbie Delfinado, 24, his partner Jovelyn Ralla, 20, and their son Jhayl Arbie.
Senior Superintendent Jaime Ramirez, BFP-QC fire marshal, said the blaze engulfed a two-story house occupied by the family on Maligaya Street around 12:50 a.m.
Probers said the fire started inside the bedroom on the second floor of the house where the victims were reportedly sleeping.
The fire was immediately raised to second alarm at about 12:58 a.m. as the blaze quickly spread to at least 13 houses made of light materials.
Twelve families were affected by the fire that lasted for almost an hour before it was put out by firefighters around 1:38 a.m.
The estimated damage to property was pegged at P50,000.
