BUTUAN CITY – A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolted Davao Occidental province Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The state agency said the tremor did not inflict any damage or injury.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said the earthquake was registered at 7:48 a.m. Monday.
The epicenter was plotted 164 kilometers (kms) southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, it said. The tremor had a depth of 64 kms.
Phivolcs said Intensity I was registered in nearby Malungon and Alabel, Sarangani of that same province.
The Monday morning tremor in Davao Occidental was tectonic in origin and no tsunami or aftershock alert was raised by the state agency. (Mike U. Crismundo)
