Kabilang sina Andrew E. at Sam Concepcion sa limang judges or
“star agents” sa nagbabalik na reality-singing competition na
“Born To Be A Star.”
Hosted by Matteo Guidicelli and Kim Molina, magsisimula itong umere sa TV-5 sa Sabado nang gabi, Jan. 30, as produced by the Kapatid network and Viva Entertainment.
Kasama nina Andrew at Sam bilang co-star agents sina dance guru Georcelle Dapat-Sy, Janine Teñoso (produkto ng said competition), at si Katrina Velarde.
Ilang daang applicants ang nagpadala ng kanilang try-out videos para sa show sa pamamagitan ng TikTok.
Sa media zoomcon ng “Born To Be A Star”, natanong si Andrew at Sam sa kanilang insight sa TikTok.
Nakakatulong ba ito sa mga future artists o hindi?
Sagot ni Sam: “I think TikTok is a whole revolution on its own. People love doing it. I don’t think it’s bad per se, but we should acknowledge the roots kung saan galing ang dance na ginagawa nila ‘dun.”
Sabi naman ni Andrew: “There are two corners sa popularity ng TikTok. Yes, sa TikTok, ang bilis sumikat after mag-viral ang upload mo…Pero on the other side, sa reality competition, gaya ng sa amin, may magdya-judge sa ‘yo – so magse-certify ang talents mo. May point of certification na magso-solidify sa talent mo and people will rely on that.”
Para kay Andrew, ano ang unique selling point ng “Born To Be A
Star?”
“It’s good for the ears. May freshness, hindi lahat ay napapanood ng karamihan sa social media.”
Ano naman ang feeling ni Sam na dating sumasali sa mga competition and now judge na siya?
“Surreal ang feeling, I can see myself sa kanila — the nerves, the pressure, the whole environment… I really identify myself with them.
“Ang tip na mabibigay ko, treat it like an experience, whatever the outcome. It’s the experience that helps us grow and learn.”
Exciting ang “Born To Be A Star” dahil Top 21 lang ang kukunin sa dami ng nag-apply, at Top 12 lang ang matitira upang maglaban-laban, at weekly ang tanggalan.
