Big stars from GMA and ABS-CBN are among finalists in the Entertainment Category of Asia’s Golden Icon Awards 2023.
The annual event recognizes individuals and companies who created great impact to Filipino society.
This year’s gala will be held on June 2 (Friday) at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Hotel, Cebu City.
Among Kapamilya finalists are: Piolo Pascual, Jodi Sta. Maria, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Iñigo Pascual, Darren Espanto, Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano), and Sarah Geronimo.
Kapuso finalists include: Dingdong Dantes, Marian Rivera, Bea Alonzo, Julie Ann San Jose, Barbie Forteza and David Licauco.

Voting ends on May 25 (Thursday).
Announcement of winners will be on June 2 in Cebu, and will be streamed live via AGIA’s official YouTube Channel.
According to Celebrity Entrepreneur Dr. Ronnel Ybañez, Chairman of the award giving body, their selection of winners are judged independently by a panel of senior experts and incognito professionals.
They are are carefully selected by the jury to maintain the right balance of competence, experience, and objectivity.
“Strict guidelines are designed to eliminate vested interest or breaches of rules of entry. Confidentiality is key to the judging process, with judges discussing the entries but scoring independently and confidentially,” says Dr. Ybañez.
“We recognize the most outstanding people, from the ordinary to the extraordinary, in building community and solidarity. The awardees go beyond mere recognition of the brand or symbol to demonstrate appreciation and understanding of key messages by the target audience,” he adds.
Other VIP Awardees for the year 2023 are: Sen. Robin Padilla, DILG Sec. Benjamin Abalos, Sen. JV Ejercito, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, Manny Pacquiao, Michael Alexander Ang, Tony Meloto, Cebu Gov. Gwen Garcia, Quirino Gov. Dakila “Dax” Cua, Michael Lhuilier, and Jinkee Pacquiao.
Other international awardees from Malaysia, China, Fiji, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Australia, and others are also expected to attend the awards night.
