Ruru Madrid admitted that he finds it quite ironical to be paired with Yassi Pressman in a film that delves in time-travel.
He met Yassi several years ago while they were just both starting in show business.
Ruru related, “First crush ko siya sa showbiz. Mga bata pa lang kami noon. Pero yung nga, nagkaiba yung landas namin along the way so, natutuwa ako na binigay sa amin ito at finally nagkatrabaho ulit kami.”
Their new film, title “Video City” is about two people who defied the laws of time and space to be together.

Of course, it is public knowledge that Ruru is already dating actress Bianca Umali so, any notion relating to him pursuing Yassi in real life is unlikely.
Or is it?
Ruru is seemingly non-committal, brushing off the suggestion with a smile.
“Working with Yassi, I didn’t expect na magiging ganito, ang bilis naming nagkapalagayan uli ng loob at nanumbalik yung dating friendship namin,” he said.
So what’s his impression of Yassi now?
“Wala naman nagbago,” said Ruru. “Siya pa rin ‘yung Yassi na nagbibigay liwanag sa lahat na para bang ‘pag andiyan siya, masaya lahat.”
Yassi is equally happy to be reacquainted with Ruru.
“I’ve observed him from afar as far as his career is concerned, nakakatuwa. Kasi he came a long way. Dati totoy na totoy lang talaga siya and he’s grown into a fine young actor and I’m really honored to be paired with him.”
Film director Raynier Brizuela expressed delight relating the tandem.

“I’m so happy because they’re just perfect for their roles,” said Rayneir. “Ramdam mo at kita agad yung chemistry na natural hindi pilit. And they’re both so dedicated to their respective roles.”
In the film, Ruru is Han, a film student who unexpectedly finds himself transported back to 1995.
Yassi is Ningning, a Video City clerk who will captivate Han.
He will continue to breach time and space only to be with Ningning.
Can two people timelines apart really have a future together?
“Video City” opens in cinemas nationwide on September 20.
