Nxled snapped its two-game losing skid with a 25-16, 25-16, 25-15 thrashing of Strong Group Athletics on Thursday, April 4, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
The triumph improved the Chameleons to a 2-5 win-loss record, creating a four-way tie with the Farm Fresh Foxies, the Akari Chargers and the Galeries Tower Highrisers.
Ivy Lacsina spearheaded the assault by unloading 15 kills to finish with 16 points, while Jho Maraguinot contributed with 12 points built on nine attacks, two blocks and one ace.
Nxled exposed Strong Group’s lethargic plays as the Athletics couldn’t even deflect the Chameleons’ offensive charge by managing with only one block out of 47 tries.
Dolly Versoza tried to salvage the Athletics by pouring 12 points, but couldn’t get enough reinforcement as none from her teammates scored more than six points.
It also didn’t help that the team couldn’t complete plays with only excellent sets throughout the 82-minute match.
In contrast, Camille Cal lifted Nxled with 14 of the team’s 17 excellent sets on top of four points to deliver 46 kills.
Strong Group plummeted deeper into the bottom standings by absorbing its seventh straight defeat in as many outings.
