Vice President Ma. Leonor “Leni “Robredo on Monday called for the development of more programs catering to persons with disabilities (PWDs).
“If we want our societies to achieve inclusive and sustainable growth, we need to harness the potential of our people, most especially, persons with disabilities,” she said.
Robredo, whose advocacies include providing assistance to PWDs, underscored the need to create more opportunities for PWDs to “lead, innovate, create, and collaborate” so as to give them a chance to succeed in their chosen endeavors.
The vice president shared these as she delivered the keynote speech during the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Disability Forum held at Heritage Hotel in Pasay City.
The conference served as a venue for discussions on various issues concerning PWDs in the ASEAN region.
