SAN JOSE DEL MONTE CITY, Bulacan – Relatives found the bodies of a 28-year-old mother and her two young sons in their home Wednesday night in Barangay Caypian.
The bodies bore knife wounds, according to Police Lt. Col. Orlando Castil Jr., the town’s chief of police who identified the victims as Jaymee Casabuena, 28, Anton Gabriel, 8, and Joaquin Mateo, 4.
Relatives of the victims told the police that they decided to visit them when Jaymee failed to reply to their text messages.
In a follow-up operation, Castil said they arrested Wilson Cortes and Joselito Cortez who admitted to the crime.
Wilson was arrested in Barangay 185, Malaria, Caloocan City, while Joselito was nabbed in Barangay San Manuel in this city.
The bloodied clothes of the suspects were recovered, according to Castil.
In the crime scene, police recovered a bladed weapon and an electric wire.
The suspects claimed robbery was their motive, but police are not discounting the possibility that the female victim may have been raped.
Police are still waiting for the results of the autopsy. (Freddie Velez)
